Change the fraction into like fractions,
$-\frac{5}{6}=-\frac{5\times 4}{6\times 4}=-\frac{20}{24}$
$\frac{7}{8}=\frac{7\times 3}{8\times 3}=\frac{21}{24}$
Now, find the fractions which lie between the fractions
$-\frac{20}{24}$ and $\frac{21}{24}$
$\frac{5}{6}=\frac{5\times 4}{6\times 4}=\frac{20}{24}$
$-\frac{17}{24}$
$-\frac{3}{4}=-\frac{3\times 6}{4\times 6}=-\frac{18}{24}$
$-\frac{11}{12}=\frac{11\times 2}{12\times 2}=-\frac{22}{24}$
Then,the fraction $-\frac{22}{24}$ does not lie between the fraction $-\frac{20}{24}$ and $\frac{21}{24}$
That is $-\frac{11}{2}$ does not lie between the fractions $-\frac{5}{6}$ and $\frac{7}{8}$
