According to question,

20×{CP}=x×{SP}

⇒\;\;{{SP}}/{{CP}}=\;\;{20}/{x}

Subtracting 1 form both sides

⇒\;\;{{SP}}/{{CP}}-1=\;\;{20}/{x}-1

⇒\;\;{{SP}-{CP}}/{{CP}}=\;\;{20-x}/{x}

Both sides multiply by 100%

⇒\;\;{{SP}-{CP}}/{{CP}}×100=\;\;{20-x}/{x}×100

⇒25\%=\;\;{20-x}/{x}×100

⇒25x=2000-100x

⇒125x=2000

x=\;\;{2000}/{125}=∓16
