Solution:

Given

\;\;{2}/{3}x=0.6

∴x=0.6×\;\;{3}/{2}=0.9

0.02y=1

∴\;\;{1}/{y}=0.02

Now,

x+y^{-1}=x+\;\;{1}/{y}

=0.9+0.02(∵x=0.9,\;\;{1}/{y}=0.02)
