A middle school teacher asks the students to toss a fair coin 10 times and record their observations as:

and

She then asks the students to loss the coin 20 times and again record their observations in same way. She keeps on increasing the number of tosses and asks the students to record their observations.
The purpose of this activity is to:

Introduce the concept of fractions.
Complete the experiment prescribed in textbook and maintaining practical files in mathematics laboratory.
Help students identify the situations in which probability is greater than 1.
Help students arrive at the fact as the number of tosses gets larger, the probability of head or tail gets closer to 0.5.
