What is the farthest distance between two points on a cylinder of : HEIGHT 8 and RADIUS 8?

Solution:

Radius of cylinder = 8
and height = 8

OO' = BC = 8
CD = 8 + 8 = 16
∴ Farthest distance between two points on a cylinder

{\BD}=√{ {\BC}^{2}+ {\CD}^{2}}

=√{8^{2}+16^{2}}=√{64+256}

=√{64(1+4)}

=√{64 ×5}=8√{5}
