Solution:

(a)

(a^{3\/2} - ab^{1\/2} + a^{1\/2} b - b^{3\/2})

= a

(a^{1\/2} -b^{1\/2})

+ b

(a^{1\/2} -b^{1\/2})

= (a + b)

(a^{1\/2} -b^{1\/2})

∴

{(a + b)(a^{1\/2} -b^{1\/2})}/(a^{1\/2} -b^{1\/2})

= (a + b)
