(b) The fast est way to solve such sums is the method of simulation. In other words, assume some values of a, b and c such that a + b + c = 0 and a ≠ b ≠ c, and find the value of the expression that is given. So let a = 1, b = − 1 and c = 0. So we find that

+ { b ^ { 2 } }/ { 2 b ^ { 2 } + a c }

+ { c ^ { 2 } } /{ 2 c ^ { 2 } + a b }

=1/2+1/2+0=1
