Blue vitriol is chemically known as copper sulfate. Vitriol is an archaic name for a sulphate. Copper sulphate, blue stone, blue vitriol are all common names for pentahydrate cupric sulphate, sodium sulphate is mainly used for the manufacture of detergents and in the craft process of paper pulping. Nickel Sulphate is used to make other nickel compounds.
