Quartz crystal used in the clocks are compound of silicon dioxide. It forms a signal with a very accurate frequency so that quartz watches can give accurate precision. Sodium silicate is a compound made of sodium and silica and extensively used in foundry. Germanium dioxide is an inorganic compound used commonly in the optical fibre. Titanium dioxide is not used in clocks.
