Explanation: From the question, equation is-

x^{2}+11 x+50=0, α \& β

are its roots.

∴ α+β=-11

α β=50

Now,

\;{α}/{β}+\;{β}/{α}

=\;{α^{2}+β^{2}}/{α β}=\;{(α+β)-α β}/{α β}

=\;{(11)^{2}-2 × 50}/{50}

=\;{21}/{50}=0.42
