Area of the shaded portion = Area of rectangle ABCD – Area of Semi-circle

=(2r×r)-\;\;{π}/{2}r^{2}=2r^{2}-\;\;{π}/{2}r^{2}=\;\;{r^{2}}/{2}(4-π)

=\;\;{49}/{2}(4-π)=24.5(4-π)
