Solution:

Volume of wire = Volume of rod

⇒πr^{2}1=πR^{2}L

⇒r^{2}(1800)=({1}/{2})^{2}×8

⇒r^{2}={1}/{900}=({1}/{30})^{2}

⇒r={1}/{30\cm

∴d=2r={1}/{15}\cm
