Let grasshopper takes n jumps to climb the wall.
Actual distance covered by grasshopper =36−20=16cm
After his last jump grasshopper will climb the wall.
So, no sliding back for last 36 cm .
Now, we will subtract 36 cm from 340 cm to get sliding distance
‌⇒n−1=(340−36)∕16
‌⇒n−1=(304)∕16
‌⇒n−1=19
‌⇒n=20
∴ The grasshopper will take 20 jumps to climb the wall.
