In the figure below, AB = AC = CD. If ∠ ADB = 20°, what is the value of ∠ BAD?

Solution:

\∵ \∠{ADB}=20^{\°}

\∴ \∠{CAD}=20^{\°}

( CD = AC)
ΔACB = ΔADC + ΔCAD = 20 + 20
= 40° (Exterior angle).
Similarly

\∠ {ABC}=40^{\°}(\ {AB}=\ {AC})

\∠{BAC}=180-(40+40)=100^{°}

ΔBAD = ΔBAC + ΔCAD
= 100 + 20 = 120°
