(a) Mumbai experiences least cyclonic disturbances.More cyclones occur in the Bay of Bengal than the Arabian Sea and the ratio is approximately 4:1. Less severe cyclonic activity has been noticed on the West coast.Thirteen coastal states and Union Territories (UTs) in he country are affected by tropical cyclones. Four states (Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal) and one UT (Puducherry) on the east coast and one state (Gujarat) on the west coast are more vulnerable to cyclone hazards.
