Given, A = {x ∈ W, the set of whole numbers and x < 3}
⇒ A = {0, 1, 2}
B = {x ∈ N, the set of natural numbers and 2 ≤ x < 4}
⇒ B = {2, 3}
and C = {3, 4}.
To find : (A ∪ B) × C ,first find (A ∪ B)
(A ∪ B) = {0, 1, 2, 3} and C = {3, 4}
Now, (A ∪ B) × C = {(0, 3), (1, 3), (2, 3), (3, 3), (0, 4), (1, 4), (2, 4), (3, 4) }
Hence, A = {x ∈ W, the set of whole numbers and x < 3}, B = {x ∈ N, the set of natural numbers and 2 ≤ x < 4} and C = {3, 4}, then (A ∪ B) × C contains 8 elements.
