- A proton enters a magnetic field at right angles to it. Therefore it will experience a force and the direction of force is calculated using Fleming's left-hand rule:
  1. Forefinger: In the direction of the field (towards left)
  2. Middle finger: In the direction of current (upwards)
 3. The Thumb is pointing into the paper.
- The direction of force acting on the proton will be into the page.
