(i) The ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) project aims to make the long-awaited transition from experimental studies of plasma physics to full-scale electricity-producing fusion power stations.
(ii) As such project started in 2006, to find whether Nuclear fusion can be a source of energy and electricity in future. Hence (d) is the apt choice.
