Given radius of circle = 10 cm
There are two cases:
Case I: Chords are on opposite sides of the centre as shown in the figure:OE=√102−62=√64=8cm
OF=√102−82=√36=6cm
Distance between chords EF=8+6=14cm
Case II: Both the chords are on the same side of centres as shown in the figure:OE=√102−62=√64=8cm
OF=√102−82=√36=6cm
Distance between chords =EF=8–6=2cm
