A constellation is a group of stars that forms a particular outline or pattern on the celestial sphere. It represents an animal, mythological person or creature. Although stars in constellations appear near each other in the sky, they may not be equidistant from the earth. They usually lie at a variety of distances away from the Earth. All stars have their own independent motions. Therefore, they will change their positions slowly over time.
