Agaricus is a genus of mushroom and belongs to the fungi kingdom. The genus includes Agaricus bisporus and Agaricus campestris. It contains both edible and non–edible poisonous species. The mode of nutrition in Agaricus is saprophytic. It feeds on the dead and decayed organic matters.
