The Constitution of India has fixed the number of Members of the Rajya Sabha to be elected from each State under the Fourth Schedule. This Schedule enumerates the allocation of Rajya Sabha seats to States or Union Territories. Schedules are the lists in the Constitution that categorise and tabulate bureaucratic activity and policy of the Government. The world's lengthiest written Constitution (i.e., Constitution of India) had 395 articles in 22 parts and 8 schedules at the time of commencement. Now, the Constitution of India has 448 articles in 25 parts and 12 schedules.
