Theosophical society was founded in New York (USA) in 1875 by Madam HP Blavatsky, a Russian lady andHenry Steel Olcott, an American colonel. Later in 1893, Mrs. AnnieBesant arrived in India and took over the leadership of the societyafter the death of Olcott.
