Gobind Behari Lal was a journalist and independence activist. He participated in the Indian Independence Movement by joining the Ghadar Party. Later, he went to the United States on a scholarship to study. After it, he worked as a science editor for Hearst Newspapers. In 1937, he became the first Indian to win the Pulitzer Prize.
