Option (c) is not among the aims of the Second Five-Year Plan (1956- 57 to 1960-61) because to achieve self-sufficiency in food grains and increase agricultural production to meet the requirements of industry and exports was the aim of the 'Third Five-Year Plan'. The Third Plan with the goal of 'self-reliant and self-generating economy' saw the beginning of long-term perspective planning as an instrument to achieve the objective of an integrated growth of industry balanced with agriculture.
