Inflation in the country continued to moderate during 2017–18 where Consumer Price Index (CPI)–based inflation averaged 3.3% and which is the lowest in the last six financial years. There was a significant reduction in food inflation, particularly pulses and vegetables due to good agricultural production coupled with regular price monitoring by the Government.
