Insects have segmented bodies,which are divided into head, thotaxand abdomen, three pairs of jointedlegs and external skeletons(exoskeletons) made up of chitin. Theword 'arthropod' refers to allinvertebrates with jointed legs.
Arthropods also have a hardexoskeleton, like you might see on acrab or on a beetle.
