Sutlej is the easternmost tributary of the Indus River. The Bhakra Dam is built around the river Sutlej to provide irrigation and other facilities to the states of Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana.
- The Kosi was called Kausika in Rigveda. It is a major tributary of the Ganges. It is a transboundary river which flows through Tibet, Nepal and India. It is called as the 'Sorrow of Bihar'. It is famous for change in direction. It causes flood in Bihar.
- Teesta river is a tributary of Brahmaputra. Teesta River is a 315 km (196 mil) long river that rises in the eastern Himalayas, flows through the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal through Bangladesh and enters the Bay of Bengal.
- Chambal river is a tributary of the Yamuna. The river flows north-northeast through Madhya Pradesh. The length of the river is 1024 km.
