Soda-acid fire extinguishers contain sodium bicarbonate (also known as sodium hydrogencarbonate) and sulphuric acid. It is the most effective house-hold fire extinguisher. The sulphuric acid reacts with sodium bicarbonate to form sodium sulphate, water and carbon dioxide.
