Ali Hujwiri, an 11th-century Iranian mystic, theologian, and preacher from Ghazna, composed the Kashf ul Mahjoob (Unveiling of the Hidden), which is considered the ‘‘earliest formal treatise’’ on Sufism in Persian. The book contains a complete system of Sufism with its doctrines and practices.
