Multi-brand retailing is not affected by the changes made in the Foreign Direct Investment Policy in June 2016. Now Foreign Investment in Defence Sector is up to 100%. Earlier, FDI up to 49% is now permitted under automatic route in this sector. Union Government radically liberalised the FDI regime on June 20, 2016 with the objective of providing major impetus to employment and job creation in India.
