Saina Nehwal is the first Indian sportsperson to reach the finals in the World Badminton Championship (Women) in 2015. She defeated Lindaweni Fanetri in the last four to reach her maiden final of the Badminton World Championships in Jakarta. Nehwal has achieved several milestones in badminton for India. She is the only Indian to have won at least a medal in every BWF major individual event, namely the Olympics, the BWF World Championships, and the BWF World Junior Championships.
