UPSC 2015 CDS II GK Paper

Olympe de Gouges was the French revolutionary who wrote Declaration of the Rights of Woman and Female Citizen. Also known as the Declaration of the Rights of Woman, it was written on 5th September, 1791 in response to the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen. By publishing this document, she hoped to expose the failures of the French Revolution in the recognition of sexual equality.
