The collision-coalescence process of precipitation is applicable to those clouds which do not extend beyond the freezing level. Thisprocess is an important mechanism in forming raindrops in warmerclouds (do not extend beyond the freezing level). In these warm clouds, raindrops form exclusively by this process. The most tropical rain is formed in this way.
