UPSC 2014 CDS I GK Paper

The Union Ministry of Environment and Forest approved in principle a proposal for Western Ghats Development prepared by K. Kasturirangan-led panel. The panel has recommended a ban ondevelopment activities in around 60000 sq. km ecologically sensitive area spread over Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka,Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This Kasturirangan committee was set up to study the Gadgil committee report on the Western Ghats.
