Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) is hygroscopic and it absorbs water from atmosphere because calcium is doubly charged ion and it has high charge to size ratio. Calcium chlorideis an inorganic compound and is colourless crystalline solid at roomtemperature, highly soluble in water.
