(a) The Pampas are fertile South American lowlands that cover more than 750,000 $\mathit{k}{\mathit{m}}^2$ and include the Argentine provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Córdoba; all of Uruguay;and the southernmost Brazilian State, Rio Grande do Sul. Central Argentina boasts a successful agricultural business, with crops grown on the Pampas south and west of Buenos Aires.
