(c) Pushyamitra Shung was the founder of the Shung dynasty. He was viceroy of the Mauryas at Ujjain and was a real war hero. He was known to have performed an Ashwamedha Yajnas. The Ayodhya Inscription of Dhanadeva mentions that he performed two Ashwamedha Yajnas.
