(c) Right to Property was abolished as a fundamental right by the Constitution’s ${44}^{\mathit{t}\mathit{h}}$ Amendment Act,1978. It was instead made a constitutional right under Article 300 A, which states that “No person can be deprived of his property except by authority of law.” The ${61}^{\mathit{s}\mathit{t}}$Amendment of the Constitution of India, officially known as The Constitution (${61}^{\mathit{s}\mathit{t}}$ Amendment) Act,1988, lowered the voting age of elections to the Lok Sabha and to the Legislative Assemblies of States from 21 years to 18 years. The ${42}^{\mathit{n}\mathit{d}}$ amendment changed the description of India from a‘sovereign democratic republic’ to a‘sovereign, socialist secular democratic republic’, and also changed the words ‘unity of the nation’ to ‘unity and integrity of the nation’. The ${38}^{\mathit{t}\mathit{h}}$ Amendment of the Constitution of India curtails the power of the judicial review.
