(b) Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are non-toxic, non-flammable chemicals containing atoms of carbon,chlorine and fluorine. They are used in the manufacturing of aerosol sprays, blowing agents for foams and packing materials, as solvents,and as refrigerants. CFC s, once released into the atmosphere,accumulate in the stratosphere,where they contribute to the depletion of the ozone layer.
