(a) Tirthankara Adinatha Cognizance was Bull, Mallinatha Cognizance was Water Jar (Kalasa),Parshvanatha Cognizance was Snake and Sambhavnatha Cognizance Horse. All the Tirthankaras laid emphasis one quality of all life forms. They also practised and promoted compassion for all beings in the animal kingdom. This is reflected in the fact that seventeen out of the twenty-four Tirthankaras have animals or birds as their symbols.
