(b) Rural sanitation not a component of ‘Bharat Nirman’ scheme launched in 2005–06.Under this scheme, the Government plans to create and augment the basic rural infrastructure like irrigation projects, roads (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana), housing(Indira Awaas Yojana), water supply(National Rural Drinking Water Programme), electrification (Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana) and telecommunication connectivity.
