(d) The Supreme Court of India enunciated the doctrine of ‘Basic Structure of the Constitution’ in the Keshavanand Bharati Case in 1973. According to the judgement of the Supreme Court (from Keshavanand Bharati Case), the Parliament can amend the Constitution of India but cannot amend the basic structure of the Constitution. The basic structure of the Constitution may be defined by the Supreme Court from time to time.
