(d) Biodiversity describes the variety of living beings on the earth. It is described as degree of variation of life. Biological diversity encompasses microorganisms, plants, animals and ecosystems, such as coral reefs,forests, rain forests, deserts, etc. Trophic level is the group of organisms within an ecosystem which occupy the same level in a food chain. It is not responsible for increase in the biodiversity of an ecosystem.
