(a) Maharashtra was the first state where the office of Lokayukta was first established. In 1966, Morarji Desai was the head of ‘The Administrative Reforms Commission’submitted a special report and this report is on ‘Problem of Redressal of Citizen’s Grievances’. In 1971, the first Lokayukta was established in Maharashtra. It was instituted through The Maharashtra Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayuktas Act, 1971.
