He was a Sufi saint of the Chisti Order and arguably one of the most famous Sufis on the Indian subcontinent.His grandfather, Syed Ali, a resident of Bukhara, and father, Syed Ahmad were well known Syeds and traced their lineage to Hazrat Aliwith 15 of his ancestors falling in the chain.
