(a) The National Waterway – 1 or Ganga, Bhagirathi, Hooghly, river systems is located in India and runs from Haldia (Sagar) to Allahabad across the Ganges, Bhagirathi and Hooghly river systems. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs(CCEA) has approved implementation of Jal Marg Vikas Project for capacity augmentation of navigation on 1,380 km Haldia-Varanasi stretch of National Waterway-1 on Ganga River.
