(c) The country’s first Post Office Savings Bank ATM was inaugurated in February, 2014 in Chennai. The ATM was inaugurated by the then Finance Minister P. Chidambaram as a part of the government’s 4,909 crores IT modernisation scheme for the Department of Posts. The IT modernisation scheme is aimed at making department of Posts a complete technology-oriented one.
