(a) In a special Leave Petition given in the Supreme Court on 9 February, 2013 by Italian ambassador in India, Daniele Mancini, pledged in his affidavit before the Supreme Court that he“will take full responsibility for securing the return” of the two marines to India on or before the expiry of the period of the leave given to them by the apex court. But the marines never returned to India, which is a form of contempt of Supreme Court.
