(d) The minimum number of judges of the Supreme Court required for hearing any case involving interpretation of the Constitution is five. A Constitution bench is the bench of the Supreme Court of India which consists of at least five judges of the court which sit to decide any case ‘involving a substantial question of law as to the interpretation’ of the Constitution of India.
